Car body shell being molded

The new car body is now being manufactured by injection molding with a NICE carbon fibre finish - very nice. Take a look in the gallery for more pictures

New shroud is being built

Summer vacations is over. The shroud is being built at the moment. The first layer of carbon will be put on tomorrow. Here are some pictures from the process.

The new shell has arrived

The design of the new shell for the two cars has been finished for some time now and we just received for mold. Soon the carbon shell will be produced.


June 2009

DTU will arrange the race

After the shocking news that the race would be cancelled DTU took upon the role of trying to arrange it. This is now a fact and together with Ringkøbing-Skjern municipality, Vestas and Windenergyevents, DTU will arrange the race from September 24th to 29th at Stauning airfield in Denmark.

The 2009 team

The new team has been assembled. This year 18 students have joined the team and the first preliminary groups have been formed. One focusing on gears; one on aerodynamics and one on pitch system.

January 2009

After testing- heading to the race

The tests of the car gave satisfactory results. Presentation of some the most important results can be found in the PDF presentation. The photos of the testing session are present in the gallery in folder "testing".

Our car is becoming very famous in Denmark- we have been presenting the vehicle in the television programme for Danish public television. We are very happy that the website windturbineracer.com has also become very popular- on the 11th of August we had a record of 319 unique visitors.

Wind Turbine Racer is ready!

The car has been finished finally! The team has gone to test it before we go to Holland to the final event.

New pictures have been added to the gallery. You can now have a closer look on how the whole machine looks like. The race is coming very soon. New photos and information will come even sooner!

The car is on its way

We are on the good way. All the drawings are already done and the elements are being manufactured in the workshop. The steering is mounted as well as the brakes. What is even better, the car is already standing on its wheels. You can see some new photos in the gallery.
